How to Write Amazing Sales Copy if You Are Struggling to Write Copy

Struggling to Write Copy

If you are struggling to write copy for your website, products, or services, there’s an easier and more affordable way to do this and in this post, I’ll show you how.

A talented freelance copywriter can create copy that:

  1. Brings in new customers
  2. Explain your product or service in a way that makes the prospect want to do business with you
  3. Shows how you solve their problem
  4. Convinces them to take action
  5. Get results and give you a strong ROI

An affordable copywriter

Hi, my name is Maku Seun, and I am a freelance copywriter based in FCT Abuja. I specialize in writing copy for business owners that generates leads and sales.

I work with small to medium organizations that can’t afford the cost of a full-service marketing firm or advertising agency but welcome the value of high-caliber, persuasive copy in their marketing materials.

Writing is Hard

Read and see if this sounds familiar at all.

You know your website needs a copy, and you are sure of what you want to say, but as soon as you sit down to write, you go completely blank. No words, nothing.

Then you start thinking of other things you ought to be doing, things that need to get done immediately. And you postpone writing copy again.

Sounds familiar?

All that could be okay if your competitor was doing the same thing. But no, they seem to be able to write rich content that is well written and brings in lots of consumers who reach for their wallets in minutes.

Relax

If you allow me to give you some advice, give yourself a break. There are many ways to overcome writer’s block if you are struggling to write copy.

However, your inability to put pen to paper is that writing is a difficult skill that must be cultivated.

Plenty of smart, successful, articulate people find it hard to write web copy.

And they should because copywriting is not their area of expertise. Just like it’s not yours. And that’s alright. You have other talents and better ways to spend your time.

Copywriting is simply not what you signed up for.

Get to the finish line

The thing is, a professional copywriter can solve this problem for you.

You don’t have to start struggling to write copy or try to handle this task all by yourself and there’s no shame in asking for help.

Not only is hiring a professional copywriter easy, but it also gets you to the finish line quicker.

Whenever you delay, even for a day, in failing to create awesome content for your website and business, know that your competitor is out there kicking your butt.

No content = no leads = no sales.

Your visitors don’t want to know who wrote your content, and they don’t care.

All that is important to them is how your content makes them feel and if they think what you offer will help them enough that they part with their money.

So, quit dragging your feet and allow a professional copywriter to help you write your copy.

Just think about it, in days, you can have your professional website and business completed, and you can promote your business to the world.

What a professional copywriter can do

So if you are struggling to write copy, hiring a professional copywriter is the best way to go.

When you hire a freelance copywriter, you choose to work with an experienced professional, someone who can provide guidance based on years of experience counseling businesses on their marketing.

Don’t be afraid to let your copywriter help you, in addition to writing copy,

  1. Assess your current website
  2. Map out the path you want prospects to take
  3. Determine what pages you need and the information each page should contain
  4. Put into written words all those great ideas rattling around in your head

Sales Copy and more

In addition to writing sales copy for businesses, I also write other types of copy like,

  1. Landing pages – Pick a specific niche and create a detailed page wholly dedicated to that topic with a lead-generating, landing page.
  2. Sales letters – Target your prospects with a succinct offer communicated effectively to generate new leads.
  3. Brochures – Create an e-brochure or printed literature to complement your web copy and “leave behind” with a prospect.
  4. Case Studies – Write about your successes. A case study positions your product or service as the best solution to a problem.
  5. Press releases – Time to toot your own horn and let the world know you’re accomplishing great things.
  6. Blogs – Stay in touch with your customers and continue to attract new business with informative blog posts.
  7. Ads – Figure out where your buyers congregate and put your best foot forward with an eye-catching ad.
  8. And more – If it needs words, you need a professional copywriter.

All types of clients

Since I have been a full-time professional copywriter for a while, I have written for lots of businesses in different markets and industries.

Even though I am based in Nigeria, my clients come from all over the world.

We communicate through email and phone calls and the process is smooth.

Frequently asked questions about copywriters

If you have never hired a freelance copywriter before, then the process might seem new to you and you probably have questions you need answers to.

The most often-asked questions have been answered below.

If you don’t see your question answered here, please ask me directly, and I’d be happy to respond. Contact Maku Seun.

How will you know how to write about my business?

A big part of the process is talking with your copywriter.

I’ll ask you lots of questions to gain an understanding of your business and discover what makes it different from the competition.

How does the copywriting process work?

After interviewing you about your business, I’ll prepare the first draft, often within a matter of days.

You’ll have a chance to review it and request any revisions if necessary.

What if I don’t like the copy you produce?

Copywriting is a process, so expect there to be some back-and-forth as the copy evolves.

We start with a first draft. About 95% of the time it’s spot on, I’m proud to say.

Fine-tune a word or two and you’re good to go.

If, however, I’ve missed the mark, let’s talk and figure out what you don’t like.

I’ll get you a revised draft in a day.

Revisions are included in the price.

I want you to be delighted with the finished product.

If you write the copy, who takes care of the design and production of the website or other marketing materials?

If you wish to select your web designer or graphic designer, that’s fine.

If you’d like to work with my people, I can manage the project.

I have design professionals with whom I’ve partnered for many years and am happy to make those resources available to you.

If I hire you, who owns the content you write?

You do. The client pays the copywriter and then owns the work and all rights to it.

Can I use the copy you write for other projects?

Yes, feel free to repurpose the content for use in sales letters, brochures, ads, or other marketing materials.

Leveraging the copy for multiple uses makes hiring a professional copywriter extremely affordable.

How much does it cost to have you write my copy?

The cost will depend on the number of copies you need and the complexity of the subject matter.

Once you and I determine the parameters of the project, I’ll give you a written quote.

What are the payment requirements?

I require a 50% deposit for any work.

The balance is due upon completion of the job.

You can pay via online wire transfer.

How do I know if you’re the right copywriter for me?

Check out my Blog (The one you are currently reading).

You’ll find a wide variety of writing samples.

If you like my style, let’s get busy!

Do you take on all projects?

No.

I refer some to colleagues.

I do this because I’m either already booked solid by my existing clientele or I know one of my colleagues specializes in the work you need and is probably a better fit for your project.

For example, one of my colleagues specializes in writing for the beauty and skincare industry.

Another is an expert in writing real estate copy.

And another loves high-tech. You get the picture.

Whether I write your copy or introduce you to one of my colleagues, you can be confident you are working with an experienced copywriting professional.

Do you offer copywriting services to other projects other than websites?

Absolutely.

I have extensive experience in writing marketing copy for a diverse array of materials including landing pages,  ads, press releases, brochures, blog posts, sales letters, direct mail, datasheets, video scripts, packaging, case studies, PowerPoint presentations, and more.

If it needs words, I can help!
